Shower Filter Benefits

Softer, Less-Dry Skin

Filtered shower water removes harsh chlorine and chemicals that strip your skin’s natural oils. This leads to noticeably softer, smoother, less itchy skin, especially for people who regularly struggle with dryness after showering.

Healthier, Shinier Hair With Less Frizz

Chlorine and hard-water minerals can make hair feel dry, frizzy, and damaged. A shower filter helps protect your hair’s strength, smoothness, and shine by reducing the elements that cause buildup and breakage.

Better for Sensitive Skin & Eczema

If you or your kids have sensitive or reactive skin, filtered shower water can make a big difference. By removing irritants like chlorine, your skin barrier stays calmer, reducing redness, flare-ups, and discomfort after showering.

Helps Hair Colour & Treatments

Filtered water is much gentler on dyed or chemically treated hair. With less chlorine and mineral buildup, your colour stays vibrant longer, and expensive salon treatments don’t fade as quickly.

Removes Irritation in the Shower

If you notice a strong chlorine smell when the hot water runs, a filter helps remove it. Showers feel fresher and cleaner, and the steam is easier on your eyes, nose and lungs, especially in small bathrooms.

Less Buildup & Cleaner Showers

Filtered water creates a softer lather, rinses more cleanly, and reduces the soap scum left on your skin, hair and bathroom surfaces. This means easier cleaning, longer-lasting shower fixtures and a more enjoyable shower experience overall.

This Is Why We Exist

We exist because the water flowing into your home has a story you don’t see, and trust us, it’s not a pretty one. Over time, pipes collect layers of rust, sediment and other build up that your water passes through before it ever reaches your shower or taps. Most people never think about it. We do.

5-Stage Filter Process

1. Sediment Filter (PP)

This is the first line of defence in the system. Made of polypropylene (PP), the sediment filter traps large physical particles like rust, sand, dirt, silt, and other visible debris. By removing these larger contaminants, it not only improves the water clarity but also protects the more delicate filters that follow, extending their lifespan and ensuring they can work at peak performance.

2. Pre-Carbon Filter / Carbon Block

Water often contains chemicals such as chlorine, pesticides, herbicides, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that affect taste, cleanliness and safety. The pre-carbon filter adsorbs these impurities. Think of this stage as a shield against chemical pollutants, it neutralizes chlorine that would otherwise damage the RO membrane, while also eliminating bad tastes and odors that make your water unpleasant.

3. Reverse Osmosis (RO) Membrane

This is the heart of the system. The RO membrane uses microscopic pores (as small as 0.0001 microns) to remove up to 99% of over 1,000 contaminants. This includes heavy metals (lead, mercury, arsenic), fluoride, nitrates, pharmaceuticals, and even microplastics. Because it works at such a fine molecular level, the RO membrane ensures that the water is stripped of nearly all harmful pollutants, delivering a level of purification you can’t achieve with standard filters alone.

4. Post-Carbon Filter (Polishing Filter)

Even after thorough filtration, trace tastes or odors can remain. The post-carbon filter acts as a final polish, capturing any leftover impurities and ensuring the water that comes out is fresh, clean, and great-tasting. This step guarantees that your water is not only safe but also enjoyable to drink and shower in, making it ideal for everyday use.

5. Alkalising Filter (Remineraliser)

Because RO purification is so effective, it can strip water of both harmful contaminants and beneficial minerals. The alkalising filter restores balance by adding back healthy minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and potassium. This not only improves the flavor but also raises the pH, making the water alkaline.

β€œEvery time I got out of the shower, my face would flare up with a red rash that felt like eczema. I always shower hot, so I wasn’t sure if it was the steam of the shower or just the water reacting badly with my skin. After installing the original Vortopt shower filter, omg the difference in water quality is amazing. No more red face, no more irritation. Lifelong customer now :)”

β€œMy little boy kept breaking out in these crazy rashes after bath time, and I couldn’t figure out why. The water wasn’t hot, so I knew it wasn’t from burning. I decided to attach a Vortopt shower filter to our shower head and use it to fill the bathtub, and I truly couldn’t be happier or more thankful. No more rashes, and I finally feel at ease knowing he’s bathing in clean, safe water. We now have all our taps and showers in the house with Vortopt Filters on them.”
